As New Orleans celebrates its tricentennial, Mardi Gras swings into action from January 27 to February 13 in uptown New Orleans, as well as in the surrounding areas. This year’s floats contained an abundance of political satire – both local and national – as well as the trademark whimsy and outlandishness. Featuring parades from the Krewe of the Druids, the Krewe of Nix (the largest all-female crew), the Knights of Babylon, the Krewe of Muses, and the Krewe of Hermes.
